Logo Development for the Next Re-Brand

One of my University briefs was to redesign the brand identity of one of the FTSE100 companies; I chose 'Next'. This brand has grown up with its audience, but one day this won't be possible, so I saw it necessary to re-brand Next for 18-25 year olds. By doing this I kept the brand identity minimal with only one main colour - red. Since the red was a major change in the identity, I kept the font similar (Avenir Next), in order to keep some familiarity around the brand. The major change was purposely done to invite the new audience, so the connotations of the previous demographic are forgotten. It was my intention for the brand logo to be flexible; hence the triangular 'N'.
