infographics

ageuk

My first job after graduating university was volunteer work for AGE UK. I was asked to create an infographic which illustrated how one organisation could reach out to 150+ clients. The design of the infographic had to be simple, clear and diverse. I started this by looking at the brand guidelines and creating a character and graphic concept. This made it easy to map out where everything needed to go when I came to put the whole infographic together, which is important when creating an infographic.

out of hours booklet

After doing the Infographics, I next had to create a pocket sized safety booklet for AgeUK Hammersmith & Fulham. My idea was to keep it very simple and informative. I used the brand colours for each section of the booklet to make each them clear, this way the user can easily recognise a new section of information. I was asked to keep it very minimal and make the information of text the main focus. I did this by having bold headings so that the user could easily find the information they are looking for in an emergency. My idea behind having a section of colours on the front cover, was mimic the sections in the booklet. Furthermore, through my research I discovered that elderly people are drawn to things with lots of colours. My cut-out design with the brand colours was therefore appropriate as it blends with the company's brand ethics.

christmas

banners

During the Christmas period of 2020, AgeUK asked me to create some Christmas banners, which would be used as email attachments for their clients around the holidays. I started this project by playing around with the AgeUK logo, I manipulated it by transforming it into a festive bow. I tried it in several different colours included some of the brand colours and also a festive red shade. I also tried a version which further mimicked the original logo by using all the brand colours in one bow. AgeUK had asked me to make a design which looked like a wrapped gift, so I used the bow asset I made to do this. It was also essential in the brief that the short poem was a part of the banner.

BANNER 1

I created a very traditional Christmas looking banner here, with a red, green and gold colour palette.

BANNER 2

A developed idea from the first banner, to show a layout without the gift wrapped idea.

BANNER 3

After feedback from the first two, I was asked to try the style of the first banner with a frosty colour palette with more emphasis on the sparkles.

BANNER 4

This was the final banner we ended up going with, as AgeUK thought it was important to keep further towards the colour palette from the brand guidelines, as it would be less confusing for elderly clients.
