What is Maplisting?

Maplisting is a digital marketing company who specialise in getting small to medium sized businesses ranked on Google. They have several marketing products including: Google Map Ranking, SEO, websites, logos and social media. I was in charge of managing Maplisting's FaceBook and Instagram pages, where I had to use social media management applications like 'Meet Edgar' to schedule posts daily.

When a member of the sales team closed a social media or logo deal, it was my job to execute these for our clients. To do this I had to constantly be in touch with our clients, making sure they were happy with the work I was producing. I worked with several small to medium sized businesses such as: Capital One Solicitors, Dryline Roofing, Southline Roofing, Attgills Drainage, 3 Kings Tree Surgery and Herriott Heating and Plumbing to name but a few.

Managing Posts and Maintaining Social Media

As well as creating posts for clients, I was responsible for creating daily posts for Maplisting's FaceBook and Instagram pages. What you have just seen are a select few posts I created for Maplisting.

Since I had to post something everyday, I used 'Meet Edgar' to schedule the posts to go out automatically. After posting for a few weeks, I was able to use this application to see when our followers were most actively liking our posts on both FaceBook and Instagram. I then begun scheduling these posts at those times, to increase our likes and followers and as time went on and the stats changed, I adapted the schedule times to align with our followers activity on each social media platform.

Designing the Posts

I had to be very quick and creative when creating posts for Maplisting, as they only have a select few products they sell. In some ways this made it easier as I could really dig deep into the products by creating posts to market them.

I of course stuck to Maplisting's brand guidelines, their main font is 'Delicious' and they have a colour palette consisting of dark and light blue and a bright vibrant yellow. It was important that not all the posts were promoting the products, but also promoting Maplisting's values to inspire potential customers to believe in the people of Maplisting and not just the company.

I used fun and relatable designs like mimicking phone reminders and replicating Google graphics to make it clear on what Maplisting actually sells. I throughly enjoying managing Maplisting's social media and I learnt a lot about digital marketing whilst I was at it.

newsletters

monthly

Each month, I had to design a newsletter to be sent out to our existing clients to promote things such as: current deals and new products.

Each newsletter focussed mainly on one thing, where we would showcase our work and products to get existing customers to upgrade their packages or subscribe to another one of our services. I followed the brand guidelines and used both images, graphics, icons and illustrations where necessary to promote the intended. However, there were exceptions to the rules in some situations, for example, I used green to promote the new Google Guaranteed product as the green tick icon is a huge part of this products identity.
